In line with its commitment to developing an integrated city in eastern Indonesia, namely Makassar, Summarecon, through its business unit, Summarecon Mutiara Makassar, has begun the initial construction phase of its seventh shopping center called Summarecon Mall Makassar. The construction process for this mall has officially begun with the groundbreaking ceremony held on Monday, May 27, 2024. The ceremony was conducted directly by Mr. Adrianto P. Adhi, President Director of Summarecon, Mr. Soegianto Nagaria, Mr. Herman Nagaria, and Mr. Sharif Benyamin as Director of Summarecon, as well as accompanied by the board of directors and management of Summarecon.

Summarecon Mall Makassar will be built on an area of 10.6 hectares with a 2-storey and 1-basement building and will have a total area of 51,000 square meters (including the parking area) and a lease area of 31,000 square meters. Another advantage of Summarecon Mall Makassar will be the presence of The Downtown Walk, a feature that has been successful in Summarecon Mall Serpong, Summarecon Mall Bekasi, and Summarecon Mall Bandung, and has become a favorite culinary tourism destination with the Alfresco Dining concept.

In addition to the groundbreaking of the shopping center, Summarecon Mutiara Makassar has also inaugurated Pasar Mandiri, which was built on an area of 3,500 square meters with a building area of 500 square meters. It is located on Jalan Kolektor 1, Summarecon Mutiara Makassar area. This Pasar Mandiri has 40 tenants and has been fully filled by sellers of daily basic necessities. The presence of Summarecon Mall Makassar and Pasar Mandiri is expected to be able to serve the needs of residents, and the community of Summarecon Mutiara Makassar, and of course drive economic recovery for residents who participate as sellers.
