The use of electric vehicles in Indonesia continues to grow, supporting the acceleration of the transition to clean energy. This trend has increased the demand for charging infrastructure. In response, Summarecon Mall Bekasi (SMB) presents the SPKLU (Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station) Signature as the largest and first-of-its-kind charging facility in Indonesia. The inauguration took place on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, attended by the Vice Mayor of Bekasi, Dr. Abdul Harris Bobihoe, M.Si., General Manager of PLN UID West Java, Sugeng Widodo, Center Director of Summarecon Mall Bekasi, Ugi Cahyono, and Owner of PT Usaha Chunlan Indonesia, Edi Amin, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a symbolic electric vehicle charging session.
This SPKLU is the result of a collaboration between PT PLN UP3 Bekasi, PT Usaha Chunlan Indonesia, and Summarecon Mall Bekasi to support the national electric vehicle ecosystem and reduce emissions. The SPKLU Signature has a capacity of 2.7 MVA (Megavolt Ampere) and is equipped with 10 units of DC Ultra Fast Charging at 240 kW per unit, with a total of 20 connectors. It is capable of serving up to 20 vehicles simultaneously, with charging time from 20% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes. Located at the West Parking area of The Downtown Walk SMB, the facility also features a comfortable lounge for users.
At the same occasion, a symbolic handover of the Zero Down Time (ZDT) Declaration Certificate was presented to the Summarecon Bekasi township by PLN UP3 Bekasi. This declaration reinforces Summarecon Bekasi as an integrated township and ensures a reliable and stable electricity supply—the first of its kind in West Java—with rapid response to potential disruptions, further positioning it as a leading and convenient area for stakeholders.
