The Indonesian General Election Commission (KPU) announced the mascots named "Sura" and "Sulu" as the winners of the 2024 Election Mascot Design Competition. The mascot was created by Stephanie, a 2021 Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program Student, Pradita University.

Stephanie's mascot managed to beat 681 designs out of 540 accepted by the KPU. In the announcement of the winner at the KPU Media Center on November 25, Stephanie explained that the initial design was used in the form of a Garuda bird because it is attached to Indonesia. Garuda bird as the embodiment of living creatures is considered to be more active and close to humans.

This election mascot will be officially launched in a national consolidation activity held by the Indonesian KPU involving around 6,000 KPU personnel in Ancol Jakarta on 1-3 December 2022.
