Approaching the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's independence, Summarecon Mutiara Makassar demonstrated its commitment to completing the area's facilities by inaugurating three new venues. The three facilities—namely: Summarecon Mutiara Makassar Convention Center (SMCC), Plataran Makassar Venues and Dining, and Al Azhar Islamic School Summarecon Mutiara Makassar—were inaugurated by the Mayor of Makassar, Munafri Arifuddin, on Friday, August 15, 2025. SMCC was presented to meet the high demand for MICE (meeting, incentive, convention, and exhibition) in Makassar, which is known as a center for activities in Eastern Indonesia. This facility is expected to stimulate the local economy and become a collaborative space that supports ideas and creativity.
In addition to SMCC as the largest convention and exhibition center in Eastern Indonesia, Summarecon has also collaborated with Plataran Indonesia to present a premium restaurant with a modern design. On the same day, the inauguration of the new building for Al Azhar Islamic School Summarecon Mutiara Makassar also completed the educational facilities in the area. These various new facilities further strengthen Summarecon Mutiara Makassar's position as a rapidly developing "New City" that provides various amenities that not only give convenience to residents but also attract visitors from outside the area.
